Writer of stories of the
sometimes-hidden heroines
About
The product of Tamara Harpford’s wordsmithing usually finds an audience with fellow public servants and family historians, yet under the anonymity that goes with writing for a day job.

Raised with an interest in South Australian history, she is also a keen observer of this present age. Tamara finds herself drawn to stories of quiet and sometimes hidden heroes, and those sweet moments in which a character’s purpose becomes clear. She takes courage from Exodus 4:12 and God’s promise to equip anxious Moses with His words, and the skill to use them.

Work in Progress
Take Flight
Let me introduce you to Addie.

Adelaide Wagner grew up in Canada with her younger brother, her Canadian mom and Aussie dad. Dad passed away when she was in her early twenties and since then everything has been a blur.

She's been working in Calgary for the last few years. Her long-distance friends and family all know she's hard to catch up with, as work and life always seem to get in the way. When situations don't go to plan her first instinct is flight, and this time it involves an actual flight - to South Australia, and her grandmother's home-town.

In Colstone, Addie learns to slow down, face her biggest fears and find a new centre of gravity.
Take Flight was shortlisted in the 2023 CALEB Unpublished Award for Adult Fiction, through Omega Writers.
Following this success, and with much gratitude for the feedback from the CALEB Award judges, Tamara continues to develop the novel, and her writing skills, and her courage to follow the dream.
